Branch Gallery Management

Learn how to add and manage photos for your branch

Why Branch Photos Matter

Photos are one of the most powerful tools to attract and engage customers. When customers scan your QR code and view your digital menu, branch gallery photos help create a welcoming first impression and set expectations for the dining experience.

A well-curated gallery can:

  • Showcase your restaurant's ambiance and atmosphere
  • Highlight signature dishes and popular items
  • Build trust with new customers
  • Differentiate your location from competitors

To manage your branch gallery:

  1. Navigate to Branches in the left sidebar
  2. Select the branch you want to manage
  3. Look for the Gallery section on the branch page
  4. You will see any existing photos or an empty gallery state

Uploading Photos

Using Drag and Drop

  1. Open the gallery section of your branch
  2. Drag one or more image files from your computer
  3. Drop them onto the upload area
  4. The upload will begin automatically
  5. Wait for the upload progress to complete

Using File Selection

  1. Click the Upload button or the upload area in the gallery
  2. A file browser dialog will open
  3. Navigate to the photos you want to upload
  4. Select one or more images
  5. Click Open to begin the upload

You can upload multiple photos at once using either method.

Supported Image Formats

The gallery supports the following image formats:

  • JPEG / JPG - Best for photographs, good balance of quality and file size
  • PNG - Best for images with transparency or sharp edges
  • WebP - Modern format with excellent compression
  • Resolution: At least 800x600 pixels for good display quality
  • Aspect ratio: Landscape orientation (wider than tall) works best
  • File size: Keep images under 5MB for faster upload and loading times

Large images are automatically optimized during upload to ensure fast loading for your customers.

Reordering Photos

The order of photos in your gallery matters, as the first photo is typically the most prominent:

  1. Find the photo you want to move
  2. Click and hold on the photo
  3. Drag it to the desired position
  4. Release to drop it in the new order
  5. The new order is saved automatically

Place your most impressive or representative photos first, as these create the strongest first impression.

Deleting Photos

To remove a photo from your gallery:

  1. Hover over the photo you want to remove
  2. Click the Delete or trash icon that appears
  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted
  4. The photo will be permanently removed

Deleting a photo is permanent. Make sure you have a backup of any photos you might want to use again later.

When customers scan your QR code and access your digital menu, gallery photos are displayed prominently:

  • Photos may appear as a header image or carousel at the top of your menu page
  • They help set the mood before customers browse your menu items
  • On mobile devices, photos are optimized for the screen size

Best Practices for Customer-Facing Photos

  1. Show your space - Include photos of your dining area, decor, and ambiance
  2. Highlight food - Show your best dishes plated and styled
  3. Capture the experience - Include photos that convey the atmosphere and energy
  4. Keep it current - Update photos if you renovate or change your style
  5. Use good lighting - Well-lit photos look more professional and appetizing

Troubleshooting

Photo Not Uploading

If a photo fails to upload, check the following:

  • Ensure the file is in a supported format (JPEG, PNG, or WebP)
  • Check that the file size is within the allowed limit
  • Verify your internet connection is stable
  • Try refreshing the page and uploading again

Photo Quality Issues

If uploaded photos look blurry or distorted:

  • Use higher resolution source images
  • Avoid screenshots or images that have been compressed multiple times
  • Upload the original photo file rather than a copy from social media
