Viewing and Filtering Orders
Learn how to view and filter your order list
Accessing the Order List
To view your orders:
- Navigate to Branches in the left sidebar
- Select the branch you want to review
- Click the Order Management tab in the branch navigation
- The order list page will load showing your orders
If you do not see the Order Management tab, make sure the feature is enabled in your branch settings. See Feature Toggles for instructions.
Understanding the Order List
The order list displays all orders for your branch in a structured format. Each order entry shows:
Order Information
- Order ID - A unique identifier for each order
- Table - Which table the order came from
- Status - The current status of the order (Pending, Preparing, Ready, Delivered, Cancelled)
- Time - When the order was placed
- Items - Summary of items ordered
- Total Amount - The total price of the order
Filtering Orders
Filters help you narrow down the order list to find exactly what you need. This is especially useful during busy periods or when reviewing historical orders.
Filtering by Date
You can filter orders by date range to view orders from specific time periods:
- Find the date filter at the top of the order list
- Select a start date and end date
- The order list will update to show only orders within that range
Common date filters:
- Today - See all orders placed today
- Yesterday - Review yesterday's orders
- This week - View the current week's orders
- Custom range - Select any start and end date
Filtering by Status
Filter orders by their current status to focus on specific stages of the order workflow:
- Find the status filter at the top of the order list
- Select one or more statuses to display
- The list will update to show only matching orders
Available status filters:
- Pending - Orders that have been placed but not yet started
- Preparing - Orders currently being prepared in the kitchen
- Ready - Orders that are prepared and waiting for delivery
- Delivered - Orders that have been delivered to the customer
- Cancelled - Orders that were cancelled
Filtering by status is particularly useful when you want to quickly see all pending orders that need attention or verify that all orders for a period have been completed.
Viewing Order Details
To see the full details of a specific order:
- Find the order in the list
- Click on the order row or the details button
- The order detail view will open
Order Detail Information
The detailed view shows:
- Table number - Which table placed the order
- Complete item list - Every item ordered with quantities
- Item prices - Individual prices for each item
- Total amount - The sum of all items
- Special notes - Any customer requests or modifications
- Order timeline - Status history with timestamps
- Current status - The latest status of the order
Working with the Order List
During Service
During active service hours, use the order list to:
- Monitor incoming orders that need attention
- Filter by "Pending" to see orders waiting to be prepared
- Filter by "Ready" to verify orders are being delivered
- Keep track of order volume and timing
For Management Review
After service, use the order list for:
- Reviewing total orders and revenue for the day
- Identifying peak ordering times
- Checking for cancelled orders and understanding the reasons
- Verifying all orders were properly completed
For Troubleshooting
If there is a customer issue or complaint:
- Search for the specific order by time or table number
- Review the order details to understand what was ordered
- Check the order timeline to see when status changes occurred
- Use this information to resolve the issue with the customer
Tips for Efficient Order Management
Stay on Top of Pending Orders
During service, regularly check for pending orders that have not been acknowledged. A pending order that sits too long creates a poor customer experience.
Use Status Filters Strategically
- At the start of service, filter by "Pending" to handle the first wave
- During peak hours, filter by "Preparing" to monitor kitchen progress
- At the end of service, filter by "Ready" to ensure all orders are delivered
Review Daily Summaries
Make it a habit to review the day's orders after closing:
- How many orders were processed?
- What was the average order value?
- Were there any cancelled orders to investigate?
- How did order volume compare to previous days?
